dogs lick you

when you are sad

give them a belly rub

when you are bored

people come and go

or shut you out

but dogs will stay

they don't complain

even when you shout

the more they come

too woo you 

with more licks

they bark loud

oh yes they do

a way to protect you

or they want to play

and spend happy times

when other people 

don't want to

they may shed hair 

all over the room

or brush their tail on you

but their love is genuine
